Helping you to understand and compare quotes for marquee hire cheshire
Once you have selected the marquee companies that you would like to quote for your event, It can be incredibly difficult to compare the quotes and ultimately decide which one to choose.
Compare your quotes:
- Are the quotes itemised and clearly priced? – If not disregard the quote
- Are all your needs e.g. tables and chairs, dance floor (see list below) listed on your quote? – if not – assume it isn’t included (if it isn’t
- in writing assume it’s not included)
- Check the Marquee size. Is the quoted size the same for all quotes? – If not request that each company quotes on the same size marquee and this size is then itemised on your quote paperwork.
- If you are not sure what size marquee you need, then ask all the companies quoting for a CAD drawing, this should confirm visually the size requirements.
- Do all your quotes have the same type of flooring? – flooring costs vary massively, from matting through to levelled floors, you need to understand which type of flooring you need and ensure all the quotes match this.
- Do you want carpet? All quotes should state either new or used carpet, if it doesn’t state new or used – ask what you are getting.
- Are delivery and collection charges included?
- Are erection and dismantling costs included?
Quick checklist for your marquee quote.
Are these items needed, included and itemised on your quote:
- The main marquee – should be appropriate to the number of guests attending
- Catering marquee (this isn’t usually a food service area but a seperate (behind the scenes) food preparation area
- Doors (usually physical doors, not just a panel that can be unzipped or unlaced)
- Window panels
- Linings
- Starlight Linings (sometimes called Star Cloth)
- Entrance Canopy (sometimes called a Pagoda or Chinese Hat)
- Lighting – is it appropriate (ask for guidance)
- Base Flooring
- Levelled Flooring – if required (sometimes called Ring Beam Flooring or Cassette Flooring)
- Chairs
- Tables
- Bar Area Tables and Stools
- Bar
- Dance Floor (different types carry different charges – check all quotes are for the same dance floor
- Stage
- Heating – if required
- Toilets
- Generator – does the quote include electrical distribution (sockets placed around the marquee) and fuel
